Security

Please pray for the country of Kenya with all the terrorist activity of recent. There have been several attacks recently north of us that have left many dead. There have been threats made to other areas but nothing has been followed through with. The Kenya Government launched air strikes on a terrorist group in Somalia that has been responsible for the attacks of recent. The other day we passed through a pretty tight security check point that was being ran by Kenyan Military in full gear. Needless to say security is beefed up but so far here in Malindi nothing has happened and life goes on as normal. We are monitoring the situation especially with the team that is scheduled to be with us in two weeks. Pray for wisdom as we plan and prepare for the team. We are taking precautions and will follow the advice given by the embassy.

516 Missions Jimba and Malindi

June 21-23
Saturday we were with the Jimba church and we dug another choo (outhouse), mudded walls, taught Bible lessons to the children and adults, and watched a cinema. 

Sunday we were in service with the Malindi Church. Our visitors taught the children, I taught SS for the adults, and Clayton brought the morning message. We came back after lunch to the church and showed a cinema.

Monday the team shopped and departed. We had an intense trip with little time spent idly and we accomplished so much in a short amount of time. We are so grateful to Anne, Alayna, Mary, Sadie, Clayton, and Lindsey for all they did. Our kids were amazing also they jumped right in and loved slinging mud on the walls of the churches. When Alayna and Anne left Sadie went with them. We have enjoyed having Sadie for the past six months as a part of our family. We hated to say goodbye.

516 Missions Magangani

June 20
Friday we were with the church in Magangani. We tied up their walls in preparations to mud and then mudded 3/4 of the church. It was a great day of fellowship with 60 of us working together. In the evening we showed a cinema and had a great turn out.
